I'm So Insulted

Oh Tivo, how could you?

I'm willing to overlook that you recorded Survivor. I mean, we watch Amazing Race and Project Runway, and millions of other people like Survivor, it was a reasonable assumption. It was wrong - very, very wrong - but I'm willing to forgive that.

When Bump reported that you recorded a movie on Lifetime starring David Hasselhoff and Kathy Ireland, I nearly threw you out of my house.

Promise me it will never happen again.

The Hoff, it taped the Hoff? That is wrong. I think there is a way that you can stop it from taping things that are on a certain channel. Or so I've heard.

Don't give up on TIVO though, it gets better as it gets to know you.

A few years ago that show "The King of Queens" did an episode called "My TiVo Thinks I'm Gay".

(Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

I don't know that much about TIVO - but it sounds like you can get TIVO to somehow deduce which shows you'd like recorded, for you.

Wow, what an opportunity to use it as some kind of personality test, eh?

We unhooked the phone line from our Tivo because we got such weird "recommended" programs. We are pretty basic = Daily Show, MSNBC, ESPN, HGTV, Comedy Central, Bravo, Food Network, Sesame Street - in our viewing but we got something about bow hunting and about 10 "made for television Lifetime" movies. Gag.

Did you ever see this article in the WSJ? It cracked me up. It's titled "My Tivo Thinks I'm Gay."

I call ours TIVO Dan. As in "Is TIVO Dan on the phone again?" or "Why is TIVO Dan trying to change it to a HD channel? We don't have HD" But after 2 yrs he's like part of the family and dutifully suggests the SciFi channel and the Food Network. Maybe if you name yours?

OK, I don't know nothing about tivo or David Hassselhoff but Kathy Ireland, now that's my GIRL!
When you can go from model to CEO of your own company, that's saying something. This lady has done more for children and women than your tivo will ever do for anyone. Your tive did you a favor but that's just me talking, who am I?
