Three Very Important Questions. Well, Maybe More Than Three.

1. Which side of the bed do you sleep on?

If you have a partner, did you arrange this beforehand, or did it just kind of happen? Does it remain constant when you're traveling?

Do you need to be on the door side of the bed? The bathroom side? Closest to the kids? Do you get actual bed space or are you constantly hanging off the side because your kid/spouse/prostitute is taking up the middle (with your dogs on your feet and your cats on your head)?

2. Which side of the garage do I want?
The door into the house from the garage is exactly in the middle, so one side isn't closer to the door than the other.

(Also, we have realized that this garage is kind of small. I've already warned Bump that the number of times we will replace a sideview mirror on my car as a direct result of this garage is greater than zero. It might not be greater than one, but it is definitely greater than zero.)

3. Which side of the garage is the left side? Is it the left side as you're looking at it from the outside - as pictured in the photo - or the left side as you're looking at the doors from the inside? Similarly, which side of the bed is the left side? The left as you're standing at the foot of the bed, looking towards the headboard, or the left when you're lying on your back in the bed?

I sleep on the left side of the bed (if you are standing at the foot of the bed). Luckily all my partners/prostitutes have chosen the right side.

As for the garage, I would take the right side (based on the photo). It looks like it would be easier to get out of the car, since the driver's door would open into the garage not into the wall.

I too sleep on the left, but I've noticed that when we're traveling and sleeping on someone's pull out couch or airbed that I sleep on the right. No idea why.

I think more men sleep on the left, but I've got no scientific proof.

If we are in bed I am on the left side. If you are looking at my bed from the bottom, I sleep on the right.

My head hurts, what was the question?

Oh, I have a one car garage. Take the right side.

When I was single I slept slap bang in the middle; when the boy moved in he simply took over the side that was closest the door (the left side). I wonder whether it's a guy thing, to want to be close to the exit? But after our daughter was born, I moved to the left side because that's where the baby monitor was (there's no room for a bedside table on the right of the bed). I definitely prefer this side - it's where the rug is.
I can't help you with the garage question though - we have only a single garage and it's narrow enough to swipe both side mirrors off.

Time for a new car? Mine has mirrors that swing in with a little twist of a button.

(standing at the foot of the bed) I sleep on the left. I think I did this pre-Chris. This has somehow always been the side closest to the bathroom. Chris is big and takes more than half the bed. Only when pregnant did I hog things (lots of pillows).

I always sleep on his left, it messes my day up otherwise. This was never planned, just kind of happened that way.

As for the garage, I would take the right side so the drivers door opened to the center.

I usually sleep on the side of the bed that's closest to the kids (the right). But that's flexible when we're on vacation.

I park the car on the side that's closest to the door (the left), because it's easier for carrying the kids and the groceries, too.

The left side of the garage is the left when facing the garage from the outside.

The right side of the bed is the right when laying in the bed.

How's that?
