I urged Bump to keep the instruction booklets for the new furniture, so the kids could color on them. He left them in a stack on the floor, where Lumpyhead found one.
Lumpyhead: "I will read this Chair Book."
"Two guys have a box."
". . . "
". . . "
[gets up, wanders off]
I think he found this title a tad disappointing.
I tried to tell him that he gave up before the story got really good. He missed the chapter where you realize you have to undo the previous four steps because you put one slat on backwards. Or the alternate ending where, in a fit of cursing, you realize you are one piece short and have to go back to Ikea for the missing parts.

Hilarious.
We have the Kritter chair and I love it. WE need to go back to Ikea and get another one since they only had one in stock the day we went. We got the little matching red and orange table, too, and I love it.
I love the ikea furniture instructions. My favorite is from this set of bookshelves we have. The last illustration is preceeded by a giant exclamation point, and then shows a (obviously) dead guy on the floor, being squashed under a bookshelf that's tipped over on him.
Wonder what Lumpyhead would have said about that.
Great post! But don't let Bump save the instructions from any bookshelves unless you want to torment him.
You've captured the quintessential Ikea experience.
HAHAHAHA! After we moved a few months ago we did two trips to Ikea for new furniture. If I have to assemble another piece of furniture in the next 10 years I think I'll find a tall bridge to jump off. Fortunately The Boy is much more patient and better at it than I...
IKEA instructions put me in a full body twitch.
He also didn't read the part where Gabe rolls his eyes at you for not understanding what those pictures mean.
