One Hundred Days

On Wednesday the Administration will reach the First 100 Days milestone. President Obama may have made great strides with a budget, bolstered America's position abroad, and brought a youthful energy and new glamour to the White House - but much work remains.

Can you imagine all that he would have accomplished if he had more help? Specifically, had a certain little girl sent him her pacifier?

Yeah, we still haven't made her part with that thing. While she is supposed to have it only in her bed, recently the pacifier has begun migrating out of her room.

And if you think Nathan Jr is opinionated about the stuff on his head, wait until you see Lula respond to the threat of a stolen pacifier.

Is she packing heat to protect that thing?

You might have more luck suggesting she donate it to the Pacifier Fairy, who leaves chocolates under her pillow in return.

I have a friend who had sucess with the Paci Fairy - but only when the kid was ready for it. All the nuks went into a shoebox that was left out one night for the Paci Fairy, who in turn left a prized tiger umbrella from the zoo and some candy.

Ada was very attached to her "nuk" right up until the day we lost it. (Ok, we did think we lost it, until after she was tucked in bed and we remembered where it was). We never let it be found again, and she moved on amazingly easily. She never would have given it up willingly, and if she had known she could have taken up arms, well, I shudder to think...

Justin traded his last one in for a toy. We went to the toy store, he threw it away & got to pick something out. Everything was fine until bed time & he demanded (and cried) to go back to the store, bring the toy back & get his pacifier. After about 2 nights, he got over it!
