I Am

1. Home

As of Friday, which is quite awhile ago but it feels like a) I just got back and b) I was gone soooo long. Lumpyhead was happy to see me, but happier to see his sister. He and Lula giggled at each other all the way home from the airport. Then we got home and she started touching his stuff and Lumpyhead was all "Mama take baby away?"

2. Sick

Ugh. That's all I have to say about that.

3. Out of sorts

2008 has been very . . . weird thus far. It could be just the vomit talking, but I can't quite settle into a routine, I have a zillion things to do, and I can't seem to get started on any of them. For example, Lula's first birthday is in two weeks, and I haven't even begun planning for it. The celebration will probably be cupcakes and champagne at our place - you should consider yourself invited even though you may not receive an actual invitation. Poor, neglected second child.

I was thinking something similar to cupcakes and champagne for our upcoming bday party and was congratulating myself for being that motivated... does it make you feel more sorted to know that you're plan strikes me as ambitious?

I don't mind not getting a formal invite, but if someone doesn't remind me what day and time, we might forget to show up.

We're not good with remembering anything these days. It's not just forgetting you. I forget many things. Like I forgot I should finish a comment before hitting publish.

*sigh*

Happy Birthday in advance in case I forget to say it in two weeks!

They say that second children just learn to go with the flow. But it makes me wonder whether that's why it's first-borns who grow up to be ambitious and success-seeking - 'cos they got all the attention.

Not that I want to make you paranoid or anything...

Glad you're back...

I wish I could come up for Lulu's first b-day... Have a drink (or two) for me.

I hope you are feeling better by now. And don't worry about the off the cuffness of Lula's celebration. You'll have plenty of years where she calls the shots (and demands a pony) to make up for it later : )
