So Very, Very Wrong

I'm ashamed to admit that when I heard of the great tenor's passing, I thought "poverati" would be a great term for poor people. It's much more evocative than trailer trash or tornado bait.

I'm ashamed, but only a little bit.

Hahaha. I was thinking about how the tenor will decompose. Paverotten. See you in Hades!

LHM, you shouldn't be more than a little bit ashamed, but only because that was the *first* thing you thought of. I agree, it's a much nicer word, but would those it is directed at be down with the nuances?

Sadly, I agree with you.

It is like literati, or technorati...

(I spelled literati wrong, didn't I?)

I like the idea of the word "nubility" to describe young women who dress all sexy 'cos they know it'll get attention.

Damn! I wish I'd thought of that!

My internet has been out for over a week and you are my current news source. Until I read it hear, I didn't know about Povaroti's swan song.

Sarah, I can't spell it either. Maybe it's because neither of us is Italian.
